Kat has consistently displayed a deep empathy for all people throughout her lifetime. She has been a Special Olympics coach and caretaker for many years to adults who have developmental disabilities. In the future she looks forward to being a foster parent.

Kat Marx
Kat Marx is an experienced professional with a diverse financial services and operating background. Before founding kinesis growth partners, Kat was Chief of Staff for a purpose driven E.V. infrastructure startup based in Los Angeles, CA, led partnerships at a pre-revenue fintech, and worked as an Associate at Athenaeum Partners, a lower middle market investment fund focused on acquiring one business across B2B Services, Healthcare Services, and Tech/Software Services sectors. This experience gave her the confidence and skillset to run her own transaction process with the support of her investors.

Personally, Kat was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She began volunteering and working with adults who have developmental disabilities at age 15 in a direct care capacity, and this work became a significant and continued part of her life. The day program she worked at; Liberty Club is one of her most treasured experiences. She has lived in Southern California and Michigan and considers both places home.

Kat graduated from The University of Michigan and USC Marshall School of Business. At Michigan, she earned a B.A. in Sociology focused on law, justice, and social change and a minor in Entrepreneurship. She furthered her education at USC, earning an MBA in Financial Analysis & Valuation.

Kat is an avid reader - especially memoirs, and welcomes all book recommendations. She loves to host community events, have long conversations, distance run outside, and curate the perfect playlists spanning all decades of music to be listened to with friends. She can always be found at one of her favorite locally owned businesses in Ann Arbor or Los Angeles.
